Two Josephs are remembered on the Armenian Church calendar this day. One is known as dirahayr, that is, father of the Lord. The other, Joseph of Aramathea. The first, was the adoptive father of Jesus. He was responsible for Jesus' earthly upbringing. The other Joseph, from Aramathea, offered a grave in which the Lord would be buried. Both Josephs took the responsibility for the physical being of Jesus on both ends of his life on Earth. ~vkm
